About PocketVeil

PocketVeil exists because phone-VPN advice is unusually noisy. Search for the best VPN for your iPhone or Android phone and you'll find breathless claims about anonymity, invented speed tests, and rankings quietly shaped by who pays the most commission. We wanted a plainer resource: one that explains what a VPN really does on a phone, where iOS and Android genuinely differ, and which apps are worth installing — including the free ones and the ones that pay us nothing.

The rules we write by

Because VPNs are a privacy and security topic, we hold this content to a stricter standard than a typical review site. We don't publish speed or battery benchmarks we didn't run — you won't find a fabricated "we measured X Mbps" chart here. We write from providers' documented specs and reputable, dated sources, and we say where numbers come from. We only call a VPN "no-logs" when there's a dated, independent audit to cite. Prices are given as dated bands with a "check current price" note, because VPN pricing changes constantly and is region- and term-specific. And we never claim a VPN makes you anonymous or untraceable: a VPN shifts your trust from the network to the provider, and that's the honest ceiling.

How we stay independent

Some of our outbound links to VPN providers are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you subscribe. That never buys a ranking or a kinder verdict. The clearest proof is that two of our regular recommendations — Mullvad and Windscribe — have no affiliate program at all, so we earn nothing for sending you to them; we recommend them anyway, because they're good.
